PM Shehbaz Sharif Dissolves National Assembly, Sets Stage for General Elections

In a significant political development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the dissolution of the National Assembly on August 9, three days before its scheduled term end. The decision was revealed during a dinner reception hosted in honor of the ruling allies at the Prime Minister’s House. However, the claim regarding the power sector recoveries should be considered alongside the 18 percent increase in circular debt, amounting to Rs393 billion in the past 11 months. The Prime Minister also highlighted significant progress in the IT sector, reporting a substantial increase in IT exports, reaching $2.6 billion during the last fiscal year.
